Why convert image formats?
Different formats suit different jobs. A website may want WebP for speed, a form may demand JPG, and a design file may need PNG for transparency. This converter moves between them quickly while keeping the picture’s look.
Format guide
| Format | Best for | Transparency |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photos, maximum compatibility | No |
| PNG | Screenshots, logos, sharp graphics | Yes |
| WebP | Websites — small files | Yes |
| AVIF | Smallest files, modern browsers | Yes |
Transparent images to JPG
JPG cannot store transparency. When you convert a transparent PNG or WebP to JPG, the transparent areas are filled with the color you choose (white by default) instead of turning black.
AVIF availability
Creating AVIF files depends on your browser. When your browser can encode AVIF, the option appears automatically; otherwise it is hidden so you never get an error.
