Taking a good photo
- Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and both eyes open.
- Use soft, even daylight; avoid shadows on the face and wall.
- Stand in front of a plain white or light wall.
- Remove glasses if the authority requires it, and avoid hats.
- Keep the camera at eye level, about an arm’s length or more away.
Whiten the background
Turn on “Whiten a plain light background” and adjust the tolerance. The tool replaces a uniform light wall with pure white while softening edges. It does not cut people out, so it works best on already plain backgrounds. Check the result before printing.
Print sheet
Download a 4×6 inch sheet (standard photo paper) or an A4 sheet filled with copies and thin cut lines. Print at 100% / “actual size” without scaling, and cut along the lines.
Important
Requirements differ and change. Always confirm the exact size, background and head-size rules with the official authority or embassy before submitting. This tool helps with sizing and layout; it does not guarantee acceptance.
